## Getting ashore

Cruise ships berth at the [Seward cruise terminal](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Seward+cruise+terminal+Alaska) , now the Dale R. Lindsey facility. You walk off into the terminal with visitor information. The downtown is about 1 mile away. A free shuttle runs on ship days. The train platform is close.

The walk into town is about 10-20 minutes and flat but open to the weather. Alaska weather changes fast. Take a jacket. The free shuttle can be busy. Agree any taxi fare. The terminal is modern but the town is small.

## Getting into Seward

A free shuttle (yellow bus or marked free) runs from the terminal to downtown from about 8 am. The walk is 10-20 minutes along the road. Taxis are available. The train station is a short walk. Most people use the shuttle or walk.

Kenai Fjords tours leave from the harbor. Anchorage is 2.5-3.5 hours by train or bus. Both need booking. The town and harbor fill most short calls.
