## Getting ashore

Seattle has two cruise terminals. Pier 66 is on the downtown waterfront and within walking distance of the city. Pier 91 at Smith Cove is further north, about 10 minutes by taxi. Check your ship notice for which one. You step off near shops at both.

## Watch-outs

From Pier 91 the walk into town is long. Use a taxi or shuttle. Agree the fare before you leave. The hills in Seattle are steep. The first taxis may be for the airport. Walk further for a city ride. Rain is common.

## Getting into the city

From Pier 66, walk along the waterfront into downtown. The path is about 15 minutes and mostly flat. From Pier 91, take a taxi into town, about US$15-20. Buses and the monorail are options once you are downtown. A printable map is available from the port desk.

## Taxis & ride apps

Taxis wait outside both terminals. A ride from Pier 91 into the city is about US$15. Ride apps work in Seattle. Name the correct pier for the return. The rank is outside the terminal.

## What to do nearby

From downtown, walk to Pike Place Market. The waterfront has shops and the Aquarium. The Space Needle is a short ride or longer walk. This area is easy on foot once you are in the city center.

## Going further

The airport is about 20-30 minutes by taxi, about US$25-40. The monorail goes to the Space Needle. These take time. Book if you want a guided visit. Stay near the waterfront if the ship has a short stay.

## Food & shopping

Pike Place has food stalls and shops. Downtown has more options. Carry small bills. Ask the price if no menu is posted. Many places take cards. The terminals have some shops.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 9 to 6. English is spoken. WiFi is available in cafes. Save a map of your pier offline. Ask staff for the emergency number.

## Accessibility & mobility

Ask the ship what the gangway is like on the day. The port's cruise-line pages describe a mechanized gangway from the second-floor ticketing level at each terminal and call it comfortable access. That is not a promise of level access from the door to the street. At Pier 91 the pedestrian staircase from the north side of the Magnolia Bridge is unavailable. The cruise-line page says a parking wheelchair transport zone is available there. At Pier 66 the passenger page lists 36 handicap stalls in the garage. Another port page lists 25, so ask the garage. The height limit on that page is 6 feet 6 inches. Metro says its buses have front-door ramps. Those buses are not a way off Pier 91. The monorail page offers an elevator or stairs at Westlake, not a level path from the ship. The sculpture park lists accessible parking. It does not say every path is level.
