Getting ashore
Ships dock at Port Canaveral terminals. The port is not in a town centre. A taxi or shuttle takes you to the beaches or attractions. Check your terminal. Walking out is not practical.
Watch-outs
The port is industrial. Traffic is heavy on cruise days. Do not walk the access roads. Confirm the terminal for return. Heat can be strong. Shuttle times may be limited.
Getting into Port Canaveral
Taxis and rideshares wait at the terminal. Cocoa Beach is a short ride. Orlando attractions are further. Use the official stand. Public transport is limited.
Taxis & ride apps
Official taxis queue outside. Uber and Lyft operate. Give the terminal number. The queue is right at the exit. Agree the destination and any fixed fare.
What to do nearby
Cocoa Beach is the closest beach. The drive takes about 15 minutes. Jetty Park is nearby. Keep plans simple. The port itself has little to walk to.
Going further
Kennedy Space Center is a longer trip. Orlando theme parks need a full day. Book returns carefully. Traffic back can add time.
Food & shopping
The terminal has basic food. Cocoa Beach has casual places. Prices are about standard US levels. Cards are accepted.
Opening times & connectivity
Shops open mid-morning. Beach places vary. Mobile signal is good. Some spots have Wi-Fi. Use the currency link for dollars.
Accessibility & mobility
Disabled parking at the terminals is free only in the cases the port lists, including a lift or ramp in the vehicle or a Florida disabled plate, and the waiver is not automatic. Ask the ship about the gangway. Book a wheelchair-accessible vehicle before you commit to the beach or Kennedy Space Center. Do not assume a rideshare car can take a chair.
