Getting ashore
Most ships use the Alabama Cruise Terminal, which is mainly used by Carnival turnarounds. GulfQuest National Maritime Museum is about 200 yards away.
Watch-outs
Mobile is hot and humid in summer, and the storms can be strong. Traffic is busy at peak times, and taxis are the easiest way to reach the sights.
GulfQuest
The GulfQuest National Maritime Museum covers the Gulf of Mexico’s maritime history and the ships that sailed it. It is a short walk from the terminal.
Battleship Alabama
The USS Alabama, a Second World War battleship and submarine, is moored at Battleship Memorial Park, about a short drive from the terminal.
Historic Mobile
Mobile is the oldest city in Alabama, with Mardi Gras history, historic houses and the Church Street Graveyard.
Food & shopping
Gulf Coast food includes shrimp, oysters, gumbo and Creole dishes. Restaurants downtown are the easiest choice.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the US dollar. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. Mobile signal is good in the city.
Accessibility & mobility
The terminal and GulfQuest are flat and step-accessible. The battleship has steep ladders and steps. Ask your operator about accessible transport.
