Getting ashore

Ships dock at Mallory Square, Pier B or the Outer Mole. Mallory Square and Pier B put you a short walk from Duval Street. The Outer Mole uses a ship shuttle into town. The ship’s notice names the berth and the shuttle stop.

Watch-outs

Duval Street is crowded and the sun is strong. The Outer Mole shuttle has a fixed schedule; miss the last one and you are late. Some older streets have uneven pavement. Confirm the all-aboard time.

Getting into Key West

From Mallory Square or Pier B you walk into Old Town in a few minutes. From the Outer Mole the shuttle drops you near the centre. No other transport is needed for the main sights. The streets are flat.

Taxis & ride apps

Taxis and pedicabs wait near the piers. Uber and Lyft work in town. A short ride is inexpensive. Agree the fare for a pedicab. On the return, name the correct pier or the shuttle stop.

What to do nearby

Walk Duval Street for shops and bars. Mallory Square has the sunset viewpoint and the aquarium nearby. The Hemingway House and the southernmost point are a short walk. All of this stays in Old Town.

Going further

A beach or a longer island tour needs a taxi or a booked shuttle and takes more of the day. The Conch Tour Train covers the main sights if you prefer not to walk. Leave time for the return.

Food & shopping

Duval Street has restaurants, bars and shops. Key lime pie and fresh seafood are easy to find. Most places take cards. Souvenirs include local art and T-shirts. Prices are typical for a tourist town.

Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 10:00–18:00 and many stay open later. Most are open on Sunday. Free Wi-Fi is available in many cafés and at the piers. Mobile coverage is good in town.

Accessibility & mobility

Mallory Square and Pier B are short, flat walks into Old Town. The Outer Mole needs the shuttle. Some sidewalks are narrow. Ask the ship about the gangway and the shuttle. For a wheelchair, the main streets are manageable; older buildings may have steps.
