Getting ashore

Cabo is a tender port. The ship anchors in the bay and tenders run to the marina pier, about 10 minutes once under way. You step off straight onto the marina boardwalk. The ship’s notice gives the tender ticket system and the last tender time.

Watch-outs

Tender lines can be long in the first two hours. The last tender is firm; miss it and you stay ashore. Timeshare and tour touts work the marina. The sun is strong and there is little shade on the boardwalk. Rough seas can delay tenders.

Getting into Cabo San Lucas

You are already in the marina. The shops, restaurants and the walk to Médano Beach are a few minutes on foot. No shuttle is needed for the centre. A water taxi to the beach is unnecessary; the walk is short.

Taxis & ride apps

Taxis wait by the marina exit. They have no meters; agree the fare in pesos or dollars before you get in. A short ride in town is about $10–15. Uber works in town for lower prices. On the return, name the marina tender pier.

What to do nearby

Walk the marina and the boardwalk. Médano Beach is a 10-minute walk behind the mall, with calm water. El Arco is best seen from a short boat trip that leaves from the marina. The old town streets are just beyond the marina.

Going further

San José del Cabo is a longer taxi or bus ride and takes most of the day. A corridor beach or a boat to the arch is the usual half-day choice. Book a return that leaves time for the tender queue.

Food & shopping

The marina has restaurants and shops at tourist prices. Fresh fish and Mexican dishes are easy to find. Most places take cards and dollars. Souvenirs include local crafts and tequila. Prices drop a few streets back from the water.

Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 09:00–20:00 and stay open later when ships are in. Most are open on Sunday. Free Wi-Fi is available in many marina cafés. Mobile coverage is good in town.

Accessibility & mobility

The tender pier is level with the boardwalk. The walk to the beach is flat. Some older streets have uneven surfaces. Ask the ship about the tender. For a wheelchair, the marina is manageable; further beaches may need a taxi that can take one.
