Getting ashore
Baltimore’s dedicated passenger terminal is at South Locust Point, just off I-95. The Inner Harbor is minutes away by taxi or shuttle. BWI airport is about ten minutes by car.
Watch-outs
Traffic around the harbour is heavy at peak times. Parking is limited, so use taxis or shuttles. Keep valuables close in busy areas.
Inner Harbor
The Inner Harbor has the National Aquarium, the Harbor Place shops, the Maryland Science Center and the historic ships. The waterfront promenade is pleasant for a walk.
Fort McHenry
Fort McHenry is where Francis Scott Key wrote the Star-Spangled Banner in 1814. The fort has museums and a waterfront walk.
Day trips
Annapolis, the state capital and sailing city, and Washington, DC, are each under an hour by car.
Food & shopping
Baltimore is known for crab cakes, Old Bay seasoning and Berger cookies. Restaurants in Fells Point and the Inner Harbor are the easiest choice.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the US dollar. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. Mobile signal is good in the city.
Accessibility & mobility
The terminal and the Inner Harbor are mostly flat and step-accessible. Fells Point has cobbled streets. Fort McHenry has a steep walk to the ramparts. Ask your operator about accessible transport.
