## Getting ashore

Ships berth at Stornoway harbour, or anchor and tender passengers in. The town centre is a short walk from the harbour.

The Outer Hebrides are windy and changeable. Services are limited on Sundays, when most shops close.

Stornoway is the main town of Lewis and Harris, with a harbour, the Museum nan Eilean and the Lews Castle grounds.

## Callanish Stones

The [Callanish Standing Stones](https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Stornoway) are a Neolithic stone circle, older than Stonehenge, reached by road about 30 minutes away.

The island of Harris has beaches, hills and the tweed weaving villages. Scenic road tours take in the moorland and coast.
