Getting ashore

The cruise berth opened in 2007. It is a five to ten-minute walk to the World Heritage city centre, and the Albert Dock is close by.

Watch-outs

Liverpool is a lively city, and the weather is changeable. Carry an umbrella. Taxis are plentiful, and the city is compact for walking.

Albert Dock

The Albert Dock is a Grade I listed dock with museums, galleries and restaurants, including the Tate Liverpool and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.

The Beatles and music

The Beatles Story is a museum on the city’s most famous band, and the Cavern Club is on Mathew Street. Tours cover the places from the band’s early years.

The waterfront and the Three Graces

The waterfront has the Three Graces, the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building, all UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Day trips

Chester, with its Roman walls and Rows, is about 40 minutes by train. The Lake District is a longer day trip by road.

Food & shopping

Liverpool is known for scouse, a stew, and for its pubs and cafés. The Bold Street area is the easiest choice for shopping.

Money & connectivity

The currency is the pound sterling. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, and ATMs are common in the centre.

Accessibility & mobility

The terminal and the centre are mostly flat. The Albert Dock is level, but the old streets have cobbles. Ask your operator for accessible transport.
