The walk from the ship to the terminal is short. The old town and cathedral are a short ride or a longer walk away. You are not in the historic center yet. ## Watch-outs The port area is open. Summer sun is strong. The first taxi queue may be for island tours. Walk further for a short ride into the city. Cobbles in the old town are hard on the feet. Agree the fare before the car moves. ## Getting into Palma The cathedral and old town are about 2-3 km from most berths. A taxi is about €10-15. Buses run from the port area into the city. The waterfront walk is long and mostly in the sun. On the way back, name the cruise terminal. ## Taxis & ride apps Taxis wait outside the terminals. A ride into the city is about €10-15. Uber and similar apps operate. Agree the price or check the app before you leave. The rank is at the terminal exit. ## What to do nearby The [Cathedral of Palma](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Palma+Cathedral+Spain) and the old town lanes are the main draw. The waterfront has a promenade. Shops and cafés sit in the city center a short ride away. ## Going further Beaches and inland villages take longer. Book a return in advance. Most passengers stay in the city or take a short taxi. ## Food & shopping The old town has restaurants and shops. The waterfront has casual food. Cards are widely accepted. Prices are about standard Spanish tourist rates. ## Opening times & connectivity Shops open around 10. Many close for siesta and reopen later. Mobile signal is good. Some spots offer free Wi-Fi. Use the currency link for euros. ## Accessibility & mobility Do not call the way ashore step-free. The port plan names the terminal buildings and does not describe lifts, slopes or gangway equipment from the ship to the street. EMT lists wheelchair boarding stop by stop on line 1, and many of those stops are not flagged. Visit Palma says some taxis are adapted for reduced mobility. Ask before you need one.
