Getting ashore
The port is about 2 km from Jeju City. Korean performers often greet ships. Taxis and buses run to the centre.
Watch-outs
The island is a holiday destination with busy roads. Check bus times for the return. Rain and wind are common, so bring a light jacket.
Jeju City
The city has the Dongmun Market, the Jeju Folk Village and a modern shopping district. It is a good base for a short visit.
Seongsan Ilchulbong
Seongsan Ilchulbong , the Sunrise Peak, is a UNESCO volcanic tuff cone on the east coast, with a climb to the crater and sea views at sunrise.
Hallasan and the interior
Hallasan, the highest mountain in South Korea, is a volcano with trails to the summit crater. Some trails require a permit.
Food & shopping
Jeju is known for black pork, abalone, tangerines and Hallabong oranges. Night markets and the Dongmun Market are the easiest choice.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the won. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, and ATMs are common. Mobile data is good.
Accessibility & mobility
The port and the city are flat. The Seongsan climb and Hallasan trails are steep and rough. Ask your operator for accessible vehicles.
