## Getting ashore

Lisbon has four cruise terminals. The most used are Jardim do Tabaco and Santa Apolonia, called the New Lisbon Cruise Terminal. Check your ship notice for which one. You step off near bus and tram stops. The walk into the city center is longer from some terminals.

## Watch-outs

Tram 28 can be crowded when ships are in. Go early or late. Hills in Alfama are steep and cobbled. Agree taxi fares before you leave. The first taxis may be for tours. Walk further for a city ride. The sun is strong on open walks.

## Getting into the city

From the New Terminal, tram 15E or buses go into town. The ride is about 20 minutes. Pay the driver about €2. A hop-on hop-off bus is an easy option if you want to see several sights. Taxis are available outside the terminal. The path on foot is long and partly in the sun.

## Taxis & ride apps

Taxis wait outside the terminals. Agree the fare before the car moves. A ride into the center is about €10-15. Ride apps work in Lisbon. Name the cruise terminal for the return. The rank is not beside the gangway.

## What to do nearby

From the center, walk to Praça do Comércio and the waterfront. Tram 15 goes to Belém for the tower and monastery. Tram 28 climbs into Alfama. These rides need a ticket. You can see the river without a tour.

## Going further

Belém is a short tram ride. Sintra is a longer day trip by train. These take most of the day. Book if you want a guided visit. Stay in the city if the ship has a short stay.

## Food & shopping

The Baixa has shops and cafes. Try a pastel de nata. Duty-free is limited. Carry small bills. Ask the price if no menu is posted. Many places take cards.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 10 to 7. Portuguese is the language, with English in tourist areas. WiFi is common in cafes. Save a map of your terminal offline. Ask staff for the emergency number.

## Accessibility & mobility

The August 2026 metro diagram marks Santa Apolónia with a lift. That does not describe Jardim do Tabaco, the gangway, or the hills of Alfama. Ask the ship, and ask at the station if the lift is working. Book a taxi that can take a wheelchair if Belém is the plan.
