## Getting ashore

The new main dock is about 0.5 km from the town centre, a walk of around ten minutes. A road train runs for passengers who need help with walking, at around EUR 15 per person. Occasionally two ships dock together, and one berths across the inlet.

## Watch-outs

Kristiansand is a small city, so most sights are walkable. Weather in southern Norway changes quickly, so bring a layer. Shops close early on Sundays, and some museums run shorter hours outside summer.

## The town

The town centre has a pedestrian street, Markens gate, lined with shops and cafés. The old wooden houses of Posebyen and the cathedral are close by. The waterfront and the Christiansholm fortress are good for a stroll.

## Fjords and islands

The coast has fjords and thousands of small islands. Boat trips and ferries run in summer, and a local tour can take you out to the islands. The area is known for its long summer days.

## Odderøya and the beaches

Odderøya is a small peninsula with a park, a sculpture walk and a beach. Bystranda is the town beach, popular on warm days. Both are walkable from the centre.

## Food & shopping

Norwegian food includes fish soup, smoked salmon and waffles. The waterfront and Markens gate have the best choice of cafés. Norway is expensive, so budget for meals and drinks.

## Money & connectivity

The currency is the Norwegian krone. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. Mobile signal is good in town.

## Accessibility & mobility

The dock is a level walk, and the road train is available for guests who need it, at a cost. Posebyen has cobbled streets and uneven pavements. Ask your cruise line about the road train booking on the day.
