## Getting ashore

Geiranger is a small village at the head of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO site. Ships berth at the quay or tender passengers ashore. The village is very compact, so the walk is short.

## Watch-outs

The village is very busy when several ships call, and buses and coaches fill the road. The mountain roads are steep and winding, and some close in winter.

## The fjord

The Geirangerfjord is one of the most scenic fjords in Norway, with steep cliffs and waterfalls. Boat trips run along the fjord in season.

## Seven Sisters and the Friaren

The Seven Sisters waterfall is opposite the Friaren peak, and both are best seen from the water or from the viewpoints on the road.

## Dalsnibba and the road

The Dalsnibba viewpoint is reached by a steep mountain road, with views over the fjord and the glaciers beyond. The road is narrow, and coaches take the switchbacks slowly.

## Food & shopping

Norwegian food includes cured meats, salmon and local goat cheese. Cafés and the hotel dining rooms are the easiest choice.

## Money & connectivity

The currency is the Norwegian krone. Cards are accepted almost everywhere. Mobile signal is patchy in the valley.

## Accessibility & mobility

The quay and village are mostly flat, but the viewpoints involve steep roads and steps. Ask your operator for accessible coaches with step access.
