## Getting ashore

River ships moor at different spots. De Ruijterkade sits beside Centraal station. Westerdoksdijk is close by. Outer harbour berths are further out. Check the official river-cruise calendar for your exact mooring before you set off. Ocean ships use a separate terminal. Do not confuse the two.

## Watch-outs

Not every berth is a short walk. Outer harbour spots need a transfer. Anne Frank House sells only timed tickets online. There are no door sales. Watch the cycle lanes. Check in and out of public transport with the same card.

## Getting into Amsterdam

From De Ruijterkade, walk to Amsterdam Centraal and the old centre. Other berths may need a taxi, tram or ship shuttle. Use the public-transport guide to plan from your actual berth. OVpay takes contactless bank cards. Check in and out with the same card.

## Taxis & ride apps

Licensed taxis have blue number plates. Uber and Bolt also operate. Use an official rank or book on the app. Tell the driver the exact quay. A ship name alone may not be enough. The city taxi guide lists ranks and typical fares.

## What to do nearby

Dam Square is close to the centre. The canal belt and Jordaan are easy to reach. Anne Frank House needs a timed online ticket. Choose a walking loop that starts from your berth so the distance stays reasonable.

## Going further

Museumplein and the Rijksmuseum require a timed entry. Book a slot ahead. Vondelpark is a green alternative nearby. Plan the trip back if your berth is on the outer harbour. The transfer can add time.

## Food & shopping

The Nine Streets have independent shops and cafés. Jordaan offers more local spots. Bakeries and markets are easy to find in the centre. Prices run about the usual tourist level.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops usually open mid-morning. Museums need timed tickets. Mobile signal is good in the city. Some cafés offer free Wi-Fi. Use the currency link for current euro rates.

## Accessibility & mobility

Gangways and any crossing of adjacent ships depend on the berth and vessel; confirm arrangements with your cruise line. Canal bridges, uneven paving and busy cycle lanes need care. The Anne Frank House has steep stairs. Use the [official accessibility guide](https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/travel-stay/accessibility) to check transport and individual attractions before choosing a route.
