Getting ashore

Ships dock in the centre of Bar. Cruise calls started in 2016, and the town is small, so the centre is close to the berth.

Watch-outs

Bar is a working port and a quiet town, with few tourist services. Check the bus and train times for trips to Kotor and Ulcinj.

Bar old town

The old town of Stari Bar, a few kilometres inland, has Venetian and Ottoman ruins and an olive grove. It is reached by bus or taxi.

Skadar Lake

Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkans, a national park with birds, boat trips and waterside villages.

Kotor and the bay

Kotor, a UNESCO walled town, is about an hour by road. The bay is one of the most dramatic in the Adriatic.

Food & shopping

Montenegrin food includes Njegusi ham, cheese, grilled meat and seafood. Restaurants near the centre are the easiest choice.

Money & connectivity

The currency is the euro. Cards are accepted in most places, and ATMs are in town.

Accessibility & mobility

The berth and centre are flat. Stari Bar and Kotor have steps and steep lanes. Ask your operator for accessible vehicles.
