Getting ashore
Ships dock at the International Pier or the Punta Langosta pier. Both are a short walk or taxi into San Miguel. Some ships tender. Check which pier your ship uses.
Watch-outs
The two piers are not the same walk. Punta Langosta is closer to town. The International Pier needs a short taxi. Do not assume a free shuttle. Sun is strong. Confirm the pier for return.
Getting into Cozumel
From Punta Langosta, walk into San Miguel in about 10 minutes. From the International Pier, take a taxi. The town centre is flat. Taxis queue at both piers.
Taxis & ride apps
Taxis wait at the pier exits. Fares are set for common trips. Uber is limited on the island. Use the official queue. Agree the fare before you start if it is not posted.
What to do nearby
San Miguel has the waterfront and shops. The square is a short walk from Punta Langosta. Beach clubs are further. Pick one area so you do not rush.
Going further
Beach clubs on the west side need a taxi. The east side is more open. Snorkel trips leave from town. Check return taxi times. The drive can take 20–30 minutes.
Food & shopping
The waterfront has casual restaurants and shops. Local places serve Mexican food. Prices are about standard cruise-port levels. Many take cards or dollars.
Opening times & connectivity
Shops open mid-morning. Some close for a short break. Mobile coverage is good in town. Free Wi-Fi is in some cafés. Use the currency link for pesos.
Accessibility & mobility
Getting off can mean a long pier and ramps. Ask the ship what the gangway is like on the day. The short walk from Punta Langosta into town is not a promise of a step-free route. From Puerta Maya or the SSA terminal, ask for a vehicle that can take a wheelchair rather than assuming the first taxi can. Heat is the other limit.
