## Getting ashore

The sources read do not describe the landing point, a pier or any tender arrangement at Solt. The CruiseMapper wiki gives the town as a Danube River cruise port in the Kalocsa district of Bács-Kiskun county. Ask the ship for the landing and transfer arrangements in its daily notice, and check whether the landing is within walking distance of the town centre. The wiki's sample 14-day itinerary shows river calls at Solt lasting about 30 minutes, but it does not say where the ships tie up. The town has a population of about 6,000 on the wiki's figure.

## Terminal and berths

The sources read give no terminal building, quay name or berth number for Solt. The CruiseMapper wiki's history section says Solt was added to the 2019 schedule of the nickoVISION riverboat, which sails from Passau and was inaugurated in 2018. Fares started at USD 1,240 per person, double occupancy, in 2019. The wiki's schedule tab shows MS Rousse Prestige and MS Lady Cristina calling on 10 October 2026 from 13:00 to 14:00, and MS Bolero on 14 October 2026 from 13:00. Those are snapshot listings, not a full timetable, so check the live schedule before you plan.

## Into town and transport

The sources read do not describe local transport from the river landing into the town. The CruiseMapper wiki names Route 51, which runs 190 km along the river to Budapest, and Route 52, which runs 64 km to Transdanubia. Wikipedia gives the postal code as 6320 and the telephone code as +36 78. Neither source gives a taxi fare, bus route or train timetable for Solt. Check with the ship or a local taxi office on arrival for the fare to the sights you want to visit.

## Sights

The CruiseMapper wiki lists Vecsey Castle, built in the early 19th century, and a late 19th-century Roman Catholic Church. It also lists a late 18th-century Reformed Church and Teleki Sándor Castle. Pincemuzeum, a wine-themed cellar museum, opened in 1980. St László Square has an open-air theme park. The Revher Horse Center and the Radioado tower, which stands 304 m high, are also listed. The wiki gives no opening hours or admission prices for these places, so check on arrival before you plan a visit.

## History and setting

Wikipedia says the area was settled in the Stone Age, and that Roman coins, weapons and remains have been found there. A Roman road from Pannonia to Dacia passed through the town. The first written mention is from 1145, and the town was under the bishop of Kalocsa from the 11th to the 13th century. The CruiseMapper wiki names the town after the Hungarian prince Zolta, who lived from 896 to 949. The wiki describes farmland with irrigation channels, several beach dunes, a forested hill and vineyards to the north-west. Wikipedia describes a medium-wave transmitter near the town, built in 1977, with 2,000 kW of power.

## Food & shopping

The CruiseMapper wiki mentions the cellar village of Meleg-Hegyi, with around 700 residents, and Pincemuzeum, a wine-themed cellar museum. The sources do not name any producers, venues or local dishes.Ask the ship or the museum staff for local food and wine options, and check opening times directly, as none of the sources confirm them. Solt's cellar setting is the wiki's main food-related point, and the cellar village is a short visit to see rather than a meal. The Wikipedia article gives no food or shopping information.

## Money & connectivity

Bring the bank or card details you need in advance, and check the xe.com rate on the day before you go ashore.

## Practical tips

The Wikipedia population figure of 6,721 comes from 2008. The CruiseMapper wiki gives about 6,000, which is the newer figure and is used here. Most schedule and fare information dates from 2019 or from snapshot listings, so check the live CruiseMapper schedule before you plan. Wikipedia's Solt article relies on a single source, so treat its history and transmitter details as unverified. The sources read do not describe step-free access at the landing or in town. The schedule entries read show calls of around one hour, so plan a short visit and allow time to return to the landing.
