[Royal Caribbean's official travel update](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/notices/travel-updates) confirms no calls for the remainder of 2026. A subsequent July 2026 statement from a Royal Caribbean spokesperson, [reported by Royal Caribbean Blog](https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2026/07/15/royal-caribbean-cancels-visits-labadee) , extends the pause through June 2027. Check the line's latest message for your sailing before making plans. A port entry in a timetable or a destination marketing page does not confirm that your ship will visit. ## What kind of stop is this? Labadee is Royal Caribbean's private destination on Haiti's north coast, on the island of Hispaniola. It is a coastal peninsula, rather than a separate island. The resort is fenced off from the surrounding area. If calls resume, the usual visit is a beach and activity day within the managed grounds. It is not an independent gateway to Cap-Haïtien or other Haitian towns. ## Getting ashore if calls resume The resort has a cruise pier, so its normal operation uses a gangway rather than a tender. Follow your ship's instructions for boarding, return times and permitted areas. The pier and resort can involve walking in strong sun; carry water and sun protection. Ask the ship about transport inside the grounds and the actual distance to your chosen beach before setting off. ## Choosing a day The beach is the simplest plan. Royal Caribbean advertises several beach areas and optional activities including its Dragon's Breath zip line and Dragon's Tail coaster. Choose one paid activity and leave time to swim or sit in the shade, rather than filling every hour. Check your sailing's planner for operating status, prices, age, height and weight limits. Do not buy an independent booking on the assumption that suspended calls will restart on a particular date. ## Food, drinks and spending For normal operations the line advertises an included buffet lunch and says its Royal Caribbean drinks package can be used here. Confirm the service points, lunch window and package conditions in your ship's programme. Optional activities and cabanas cost extra. Bring small US-dollar notes if you want to buy local crafts, and agree a price before paying. Ask which purchases can be charged to your onboard account; do not assume every merchant accepts the ship's card. ## Leaving the grounds Do not plan to walk through the resort gate or arrange a taxi into Haiti. Resort access restrictions apply even if an online map makes the next settlement look close. Any excursion offered beyond the grounds must be checked through your cruise line for that sailing. A future reopening would not by itself confirm that older village visits or boat excursions are available again. ## Returning to the ship If your sailing eventually calls, use the ship's all-aboard time and leave time for the walk back along the pier. Save the day's resort map and meeting point before leaving the ship; do not rely on public Wi-Fi. If your itinerary has changed, use the replacement port's guide and the new excursion information sent by the line. ## Accessibility & mobility Confirm gangway access, distances, transport and any beach wheelchair availability with the cruise line for your actual sailing. Sand and activity equipment have different access requirements from paved resort paths. Do not treat older claims that the entire property is accessible as a guarantee for your needs.
