Getting ashore
This is a tender port. Passengers are tendered to the centre of Itea, a quiet village. Check your ship’s notice for tender times.
Watch-outs
Itea has very few shops and services, so bring what you need from the ship. The village beach has no facilities but is fine for a swim.
Itea
Itea is a quiet, pretty harbour village on the Gulf of Corinth, with a few cafés and a waterfront promenade.
Delphi
Delphi is the ancient sanctuary of Apollo, where the oracle spoke, and it is about 40 minutes up the mountain by road. The site, the theatre and the museum are the main sights. Most visitors come on a tour from the ship.
Olive groves and the gulf
The coast road runs past olive groves, and the Gulf of Corinth is good for boat trips and swimming.
Food & shopping
Greek food includes grilled fish, moussaka and local olive oil. Tavernas on the waterfront are the easiest choice.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the euro. Cards are accepted in most places, and ATMs are in the village.
Accessibility & mobility
The tender landing involves a step. Delphi's site has uneven, steep paths and steps, so ask your operator about accessible vehicles and a shorter route.
