Getting ashore

Ships berth at the cruise terminal, which is beside the redeveloped marina for yachts. Taxis and shuttles run to the resort areas.

Watch-outs

Check the current security and travel advice before you travel. Use official taxis and agree fares. Dress modestly away from the resorts.

Naama Bay

Naama Bay is the resort centre, with a beach, bars, restaurants and shops.

Ras Mohammed

Ras Mohammed National Park is at the tip of the peninsula, with reefs and snorkelling. Boat trips leave from the port.

Desert and mountains

Mount Sinai and St Catherine’s Monastery are reached by road, a long day trip with an early start.

Food & shopping

Egyptian food includes koshari, grilled meat and fresh seafood. Markets sell spices, textiles and souvenirs.

Money & connectivity

The currency is the Egyptian pound. Cards are accepted in larger hotels, and cash is needed for markets.

Accessibility & mobility

The terminal and marina are flat. The desert trips are long and rough. Ask your operator for accessible vehicles.
