## Getting ashore

Skagen is at the top of Denmark, where the Baltic and North Seas meet. Ships anchor and passengers are tendered ashore, or they use the harbour. The town is compact and walkable.

## Watch-outs

Sea conditions can stop tenders. The wind and the weather change quickly. Services are few on Sundays.

## Grenen

[Grenen](https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Skagen) is the sandspit at the northern tip, where two seas meet. It is a short ride by bus or taxi, then a walk across the sand.

## Skagen town

The town has a whitewashed old fishermen's quarter, the harbour and the Skagens Museum, which has paintings by the Skagen Painters.

The Michael and Anna Ancher House is a museum in the town, showing the life and work of the painters who lived here.
