## Getting ashore

## Historic centre

The old town has colonial houses, the Parque Céspedes and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption.

## Moncada and the Revolution

The Moncada Barracks, where the 1953 attack began the Cuban revolution, is now a museum. The Santa Ifigenia cemetery holds the tomb of José Martí.

## Castillo del Morro

The Castillo del Morro is a 17th-century fortress guarding the harbour, reached by boat and a climb.
