Getting ashore
Norman Island is privately owned and largely uninhabited. Ships anchor in The Bight, one of the most protected anchorages in the area, and passengers are tendered ashore.
Watch-outs
The island has few facilities, and the bars and the beach are the main services. Bring cash in US dollars and water. Tender times depend on the wind.
The Bight and the bars
The Bight has beach bars, moorings and the Willy T floating bar. It is a lively, relaxed spot for a swim and a drink.
The Caves and snorkelling
The Caves on the island’s shore are a snorkelling spot, and the reef around the island has fish and coral.
Pirates Bight
Pirates Bight is a sheltered cove on the island’s west side, reached by boat or a walk along the beach.
Food & shopping
Simple beach food and drinks are available at the bars. There are no proper shops, so bring what you need.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the US dollar. Cash is the most reliable payment, and mobile signal is limited.
Accessibility & mobility
The tender landing and the sandy beach are hard for anyone with limited mobility. The island paths are rough. Ask your ship and operator about access before booking.
