Getting ashore
Ships under about 700 feet dock at Heritage Wharf, in downtown Hamilton. Larger ships use King’s Wharf in the dockyard.
Watch-outs
Bermuda’s roads are narrow and the island drives on the left. Scooters are common, so take care. Buses and ferries are the easiest way around.
Front Street
Front Street is the waterfront shopping street, with shops, restaurants and the harbour views.
Par-la-Ville and the Cathedral
Par-la-Ville is the Victorian park and the seat of the government, with the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity nearby.
Beaches and the coast
Horseshoe Bay is the best-known beach, reached by bus from Hamilton. The coastline has pink sands and coves.
Food & shopping
Bermudian food includes fish chowder, codfish and potatoes, and the Dark ’n’ Stormy cocktail. Restaurants on Front Street are the easiest choice.
Money & connectivity
The currency is the Bermudian dollar, at parity with the US dollar, and US dollars are accepted. Cards are accepted in most places.
Accessibility & mobility
The wharf and Front Street are flat and step-accessible. Horseshoe Bay has steps and sand. Ask your operator about accessible transport.
