## Getting ashore

Cruise ships dock at Bridgetown Port. Up to eight ships can berth. You step off near the terminal. The walk from the ship to the exit is short. The capital is a short distance away.

## Watch-outs

The first taxis may be for island tours. Walk further for a short ride into town. Agree the fare before you leave. The boardwalk walk can be hot and long. Note the pier for the way back.

## Getting into Bridgetown

Town is about a 10-15 minute walk along the boardwalk or a 5-minute taxi for about US$6. The path is mostly flat. No regular public bus is listed from the pier for this hop. Taxis wait outside if the walk feels long. A printable map is available at the port.

## Taxis & ride apps

Taxis line up outside the terminal. A short ride into town is about US$6. Ride apps are limited. Name Bridgetown Port for the return. The rank is outside the terminal.

## What to do nearby

Walk the boardwalk into the capital for shops and the waterfront. Independence Square is nearby. This loop stays in town and needs no ticket. You can see the harbor without a tour.

## Going further

The airport is about 13 miles. Beaches and attractions are further by taxi. These take time. Book if you want a guided visit. Stay near the port if the ship has a short stay.

## Food & shopping

The waterfront and town have shops for duty-free and local crafts. Cafes serve local food. Carry small bills. Ask the price if no menu is posted. The terminal has some shops.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 9 to 5. English is spoken. WiFi is available in cafes. Save a map of the port offline. Ask staff for the emergency number.

## Accessibility & mobility

The port says it is accessible to passengers with disabilities, and that wheelchair-accessible units can move people from the ship to the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal. That is the ship-to-terminal ride, offered when the berth calls for it. It is not a claim that Trevor's Way, Pelican Craft Centre, or the streets of Bridgetown are step-free. Visit Barbados describes a Fully Accessible Barbados programme and does not audit this terminal or the 20-minute walk. The Transport Board says it has electric buses with wheelchair facilities. An older tourism listing said two such buses in a fleet of about 304. Neither page says the bus at Princess Alice Highway will be one of them. The Museum of Parliament page does not describe steps or a lift.
