## Getting ashore

Ships dock at the Prince George Wharf or nearby piers in Nassau. The walk into the centre is short and flat. Some ships use a different berth. Check your pier. Taxis queue at the end of the dock.

## Watch-outs

The walk into town is easy but can be in full sun. Confirm the pier for return. Traffic near the port can be busy. Do not leave valuables unattended. The Straw Market is crowded.

## Getting into Nassau

From the wharf, walk straight into the centre in about 10 minutes. The main streets are flat. Taxis wait at the dock if you prefer a ride. Public buses run but are less direct.

## Taxis & ride apps

Taxis queue at the pier exit. Fares to the beaches are set. Uber is limited. Use the official queue. Agree the fare before you leave if it is not posted.

## What to do nearby

The Straw Market and shops are a short walk. The Queen's Staircase is nearby. The walk there has steps. Keep the loop short so you do not miss the ship.

## Going further

Cable Beach and Paradise Island need a taxi. The drive takes 15-20 minutes. Book a return. Beach clubs charge entry. Check traffic on the way back.

## Food & shopping

The market and waterfront have snacks and shops. Local places serve Bahamian food. Prices are about standard cruise-port levels. Many take cards or dollars.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops open mid-morning. Some close early. Mobile coverage is good. Free Wi-Fi is in some cafés. Use the currency link for Bahamian dollars.

## Accessibility & mobility

The port does not run a shuttle, and the walk of about 500 metres can include pier ramps and uneven paving on Bay Street. Queen's Staircase is steps. Book a wheelchair-accessible van before you commit to Paradise Island or the fort; the tourism site lists operators who have them. Ask the ship about the gangway on your berth.
