## Getting ashore

Cruise ships sail into the port near the city center. The Passenger Terminal is about a half mile from downtown. Free shuttle buses run if your ship is at an outlying dock. You step off near taxi stands. The walk from the ship to the exit is short.

## Watch-outs

The streets around the port are not safe to walk alone at night. Agree taxi fares or use the free shopping shuttle. The first taxis may be for tours. Walk further for a city ride. Note the terminal for the way back.

## Getting into Buenos Aires

The center is about a half mile walk or a short taxi. Free shopping shuttles run to shopping areas. Taxis are metered in the city. The path on foot is short but use the shuttle if you prefer. A printable map is available at the port.

## Taxis & ride apps

Taxis wait at the terminal with pre-set prices for neighborhoods. A short ride into the center is about US$5-10. Ride apps work in Buenos Aires. Name the cruise terminal for the return. The rank is outside the terminal.

## What to do nearby

Walk or take the shuttle to Microcentro and Avenida Florida for shops. The waterfront is nearby. This area is the commercial center and needs no ticket for the streets.

## Going further

The airports are further. Recoleta and other neighborhoods are short taxi rides. These take time. Book if you want a guided visit. Stay near the center if the ship has a short stay.

## Food & shopping

Avenida Florida has shops and cafes. Carry small bills. Ask the price if no menu is posted. Many places take cards. Tipping is common.

## Opening times & connectivity

Shops open about 10 to 7. Spanish is the language, with some English. WiFi is available in cafes. Save a map of the terminal offline. Ask staff for the emergency number.

## Accessibility & mobility

Do not call the way ashore step-free. The port page describes berths, a nursing room and a 24-hour ambulance. It does not describe the gangway, lifts or the walk off the ship. Ask the line. The E-Bus is described as accessible for people with reduced mobility, but no stop is named at the gangway, and the terminal FAQ says there is no parking for private cars. San Telmo's streets are cobbled. A taxi time on the tourism page is not a step-free route to the cemetery or to Caminito.
